NaMa native landscapes, a full service practice in Miami dedicated to sustainable landscaping using South Florida native plants, was formed in 2019 by Natalia Manrique and Mauricio Gonzalez, after they transformed their own backyard into a native ecosystem that fosters and nurtures wildlife. As the demand for sustainable practices has grown, NaMa is committed to help homeowners learn about the possibilities to bring biodiversity into their own backyards, generate awareness and contribute to the restoration and protection of our natural ecosystem; using restorative practices, providing habitat for pollinators and inserting efficient watering methods one yard at a time. Mauricio and Natalia are avid campers and hikers, always looking into Florida’s backcountry nature for inspiration in their projects. |

NATALIA MANRIQUE:
Natalia was born in the Andean mountains of Colombia where nature poses a grandiose show at every turn. Overtime she fell in love with the striking subtleness and the vast flatness of Florida’s rich habitats. After receiving her BFA from UF/New World School of the Arts, she worked as the community outreach program director for a foundation for the arts in Miami and as the producer for a classical music concert series. Partnering in life with Mauricio and with a growing family, her new mission was to spread the word about the current environmental threats that are depleting our water resources, significantly affecting the health of South Florida natural ecosystems and the alternative green practices that can help us keep our Florida alive. |
